Barrel Compound | Instructions for Use
One unit treats one acre.
For Use As a Field Spray:
Stir Barrel Compound into 3 gallons of water in the same vigorous manner used for BD 500 and BD 501, but for only 20 minutes instead of one hour.
If you are using spray equipment, strain or filter after stirring and further dilute to your sprayer's calibration. (For example, if your sprayer is calibrated to spray 20gal/acre, add 17 more gallons of water.)
Spray BC on the field during seedbed preparation prior to BD 500, but BD 500 should be applied as immediately as time and labor permit. Spray during the latter part of the day, when the shadows are growing long. For best results, cultivate soil after applying BC and BD 500.
Some suggested additional uses for Barrel Compound:
For pastures and hayfields: Use BC along with BD 500 and BD 501, timed according to the directions for each preparation.
For plants under stress due to drought, insect attack, or other reasons: a “first aid” spray with BC gives dramatic recoveries.
For barns, feedlots, and pens where livestock are kept: BC reduces both fly and odor problems.
For getting plants off to a good start: use a seed soak of BC. Also useful with transplants as a root bath or for watering new transplants.
For rejuvenating fruit trees: the B.C. in combination with BD #500 and applied to the previously cultivated or aerated drip line area under the tree can be quite effective.
