What is Biodynamics?
We all want good food full of life – and food that doesn’t poison the earth. Is there a way to grow food and heal our planet?
Biodynamics offers backyard gardeners and large-scale farmers a way to regenerate tired soils without using chemicals; it is a completely natural, organic, sustainable, and non-toxic way of growing food.
The word “biodynamic” means “life forces” because biodynamic growers are all about nurturing living soil and making sure all plants are provided with ideal organic nutrition to be healthy. Why do we do this? Because we want healthier soil and healthier humans.
Anything living has rhythms: waking, sleeping, breathing in, breathing out. The soil is alive and biodynamic growers pay attention to these patterns to help increase the liveliness of our farms and gardens.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, the Josephine Porter Institute is dedicated to supplying the world with educational materials so people can make their own healthy soil remedies.
For anyone who cannot make their own, we also offer low-cost biodynamic preparations to purchase so you can take steps with us to heal our shared environment.
Thank you for what you do. We can’t do it without you!
