Future Harvest CASA in partnership with the Eastern Shore Resource Conservation & Development Council is offering an on-farm education day on April 28th.

Join us at Perennial Roots Farm on Virginia’s Eastern Shore to learn about permaculture, raising specialty crops, and integrated pasture management. Perennial Roots farmers Stewart Lundy and Natalie McGill will share their experience raising vegetables, flowers, eggs, and meat for local markets. Patrick Johnson, Small Farm Outreach Agent from Virginia State University, will discuss his research utilizing permaculture in intensive vegetable production.

Participants will also learn about the farm’s rotational grazing practices and engage in a hands-on barrel composting workshop. Please be prepared for hands-on work with gloves and muck boots. The educational program will be followed by a potluck lunch.

Tickets are $15 or $10 for Future Harvest CASA members. Register online at: goo.gl/fXrvR9 or by contacting Niamh Shortt at 443-880-1247, email: niamh@futureharvestcasa.org.
